Ian Wood Sports started in 1980 and is still run by Ian, his wife Jo (in the back office) and their new partner, grandson Will. Our aim is to supply racket sports equipment at competitive prices backed up by personal service. Although our shop is small, we are usually able to match the prices of our much larger competitors - sometimes offering an even better deal!
We provide an on-site stringing service using the latest Babolat and Wilson Electronic stringing machines and offer a large choice of strings for Tennis, Squash, Badminton and Racketball rackets. We have a quick turn-a-round of racket stringing and are often able to provide a same day service. Will is a Babolat Certified Stringer and Ian is a European Racket Stringers Association Certified Stringer.
The shop is an authorised stockist for most of the major racket brands and we can supply not only shoes, clothing, luggage, balls and accessories but also court equipment for tennis, mini-tennis and badminton. We supply equipment to Clubs, Schools, Newcastle City Council amongst others.
At present, we do not trade as an internet site and so do not list all of our stock on this website - but we are happy to forward goods to customers who make contact by email or phone. We are, of course, delighted to help customers who visit the shop in person.
